2. What is the dose of One-Alpha® injection subcutaneously (locally) in hyperparathyrodism?
ANSWER
Intravenous One-Alpha® is recommended when a rapid and effective suppression of PTH in haemodialysis patients with secondary hyperparathyroidism.
The use of intravenous One-Alpha® is only limited to patients undergoing regular haemodialysis as it has to be administered to the returned blood at the end of the dialysis session.
All clinical studies endorsed use this indication and never beyond. However, few personal experiences, tested its effects subcutaneously.
Irritation that varried between moderate to severe has been reported. Accordingly it is recommended to use One-Alpha® intravenous formulation only to patients undergoing haemodialysis in the return blood at the end of the dialysis session.
